3 SIMPLE WAYS TO CURE YOUR WINTER BLUES

Hey guys! I hope everyone is surviving this BRUTAL Midwestern weather because I’m not sure if I’m going to make it much longer. The snow is now the gross brown color, I’m tired of being absolutely freezing 24/7 and the worst part of all is everything is SO dry!! My hair looks like a bail of hay, my make up isn’t applying properly, and I’m so pale is border line scary. So I had a much needed afternoon of giving myself a little at home spa day to cure my winter blues and man did it feel good! If you’re fighting dryness and looking to get your summer glow back then keep reading below on how to give your body the love it needs!

1. Face Mask

I’m going to be completely honest with you all because we’re all friends here but how in the heck am I breaking out like I’m a 13 year old girl again? Fighting dryness and breakouts, cut me some slack here! That’s where my favorite face mask- Cosmetic Warrior from lush cosmetics comes into play. It has fresh ingredients like egg whites and honey to moisturize and soothe the skin while garlic and tea tree oil keep your face clear and blemish free. This is only sold in stores so for all my Indy girls head to The Fashion Mall at Keystone to get your hands on this! I’ve also linked a few of my other go-to face masks here and here! :)

2. Hair mask

I am always fighting dry hair no matter the season we are in. I’ve colored my hair one thousand times and I use to wash it every single day. I know I know it’s a big no no but I’ve gotten a lot better with not doing these things but it’s inevitable in this Indiana winter. Thank goodness for my year round go-to Reconstructive Moisture Mask by Kristin Ess from Target. All you have to do is apply after shampooing and leave on for 5 minutes or longer if you have time. I usually try and do around 30-40 minutes, once a week and let me tell you it’s a game changer. Not to mention is smells absolutely amazing and it’s only $14.00!! This stuff feels like it belongs in a salon it’s THAT good!

3. Self-tanner

I’m a bit of a newbie when it comes to the self tanner world. I grew up going to the tanning beds because I was always afraid of looking orange if I tried anything else. Now that I’m older and much wiser ;) I’m trying to protect my skin as much as possible and in this weather I look like I haven’t seen a ray of sun in 5 years. I was really looking for an at-home remedy that didn’t leave me streaky and looking like a Cheeto!! I found St. Tropez at Ulta (but it’s also sold on Amazon as well) and I fell in LOVE guys. I'm using the Classic and the color is so natural and it drys super quick so you don’t have to wait around all day for it to dry. They do have darker options available if you're looking for a highly pigmented color. Purchasing the applicator mitt is an absolute must because it helps apply the formula so evenly and keeps your skin looking like you just stepped off the beach.
